Anything with your logo or key phrase. My first yellow page ad sucked. It was really boring because I let the rep control the sale. Not this time. I told them exactly how "I" wanted it to be. My sign is very eyecatching. So I gave him a copy of the artwork and said this is what I want.

p.s I see that you are from Florida have you sent the email in the ask Don forum? If not please check it out.

Rep Power: 8 Bronze Star will become famous soon enough
Keypoints for publication is size, color and style. Avoid pictures of half naked women standing next to something that resembles a coffin. (sorry, but true) Go for the larger if you can afford it. Ask which salon has the largest ad and ask to see it. Get one the same size or bigger... preferrably on the same page that "Tanning" is listed. Sometimes they'll put your ad on the previous page or the next page. Ask for an outter, upper corner if possible on the page that "Tanning" is listed. Keep it simple. If you have standard hours year round, post them... if you have one set price for something, post that too. Such as m-f 9-9, s&s 9-3, 1 mo unlimited $65, walkins welcome! Your addy and number should be bold! No maps... they are confusing. If you feel you MUST have a graphic... only use your salon or company logo. KISS!

Rep Power: 0 Tracie Williams is an unknown quantity at this point
I am working on this very thing as we post! Our ad this year will be simple. Not alot of info to confuse the customer. It will display our logo, phone number, addresses and key points of interest such as Mystic Tan, 5 Locations, Largest facility in our area, Low - Med - High pressure units, No appts.

I did find out one thing about Real Yellow pages I guess this works with all, not sure but the largest display ad (not box) goes at the top of the page! We will also have a white back ground to help it stand out and we will ad color. The only difference from our box ad we had last year is about $19.00.

It is well worth the extra money to be so well advertised! We include a coupon in the phone book as well.
