FYI To Ask Don's Army:

That's right, it is time for the anti-tanning segment of the dermatology community and their comrades to "throw in the towel" and admit defeat!

An article in the July, 2002 issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine shows that their program of sun avoidance and use of a sunscreen every day of the year no matter the location or season to PREVENT SUNBURNING is a dismal failure!

The authors showed that almost one third (31.7%) of the 156,354 people surveyed had suffered a sunburn in the previous year.

And for adults 18 - 29 years of age, an incredible 57.5% of those surveyed reported a sunburn in the previous year!

So, folks, the results are in and it is time for the dermatology community to face reality; what they are recommending (sun avoidance and the use of a suncreeen) IS NOT WORKING!

Therefore, it is time for a change!

It is time to encourage the development and year-round maintenance of facultative pigmentation (better known as a "tan") through sensible, moderate and responsible exposure to UVR!

And the ideal place to develop and maintain a year-round tan is at your friendly local indoor tanning salon!

Are they admitting to the failure or is it just your interpretation of the article?

Can we use this article (peer reviewed I assume) and have it sourced and foot noted in our own dialoge to the national press????
