My local radio station has an auction every year. I give tanning and lotion, I get my retail price for it, and I can give as much or as little as I want and they ask for 1/2. It has worked out well, I get advertising for next to nothing.

Becka, the proper spelling of radio is RADIO. As you mentioned our local station has an annual auction as well. And yes it is a GREAT way to get air time at a reasonable price! We've been doing this a couple years now and its a boon for us! Everyone needs to talk to their local radio rep. about promotional deals.
As they say... radio gets results! Also heard, I saw it on the radio![ This Message was edited by: bsmart on 2002-06-08 20:55 ] |

If you live in a large metro area with a zillion radio stations, how do you pick one or two to advertise with? Tangirl's boyfriend works for one of them but it would still be cost prohibitive for us to do this. I could narrow it down to four stations to appeal to our market for salon #1, but salon #2 is situated between rural and city folks so the choice(s) become less clear. Perhaps a survey with this question may help? Thoughts anyone?
