I think we do a good job of sales but I have a renewed interest in making SALES more of a priority.
Just implemented a new commission structure and will be requiring employees to have a minimum in each area they are being commissioned. I'm tracking the following ratios: TPH - Tanner Per Hours PPPA - Products Per Person Average LPPA - Lotion Per Person Average SPPA - Service Per Person Average TPPA - Total Per Person Average MPNPA - Membership Per New Person Average They will be required to meet min. of the above averages. If they do not meet these then they will be brought back into training until they do. If they cannot then we will let the go. As everyone is reaching these standards we will raise them. NOW WHAT CAN YOU ADD TO THIS? |

Mike - Thanks for reminding us about these all so important numbers. Unfortunately with dealing with taking over #2 and preparing for Vegas I have not been able to focus much attention on these.
I'm hoping that slow season will provide me with the opportunity to do a lot of restructuring. |

I own a full service salon and am going to bring in a suncapsule stand-up to add to our service menu, my question is this: we are a lease salon, I have no employees, how,if any, do I compensate the lesees for helping run the capsule, booking appts.,selling packages and generally promoting the tan unit? HELP, I would appreciate any feedback on this. Celinda(washington state)

celinda, welcome to Tantalk! I'm not sure how many of us have combination hair and tanning salons, but I know Chip (our very own in-house booth expert) has 20 years experience with such an operation. Perhaps if you send him a private message he would share his secrets of success.

chunn; isn't TPH more a function of time of day, time of year, advertising, location and equipment? I have always felt that it was a responsibility of management more than the sale staff.

Steve,
You are correct. I wanted to show that because there is a correlation between the other numbers and that number. When you see 10 people per hour versus 100 people per hour I expect the other numbers to be higher. Just a way to help qualify the other numbers. The corporate staff if responsible for getting us more customers. |
