There would be the need for teo signatures on checks..
I would trust Bob with the writting of checks.. that is what was being said in my post..
I do not see Big Dog as a conflict MJ..
NAC has been a passion of yours..for months and months and months..that is why you did BD..
Please explain this MJ...
Shelia and you should be very much apart of NAC...
On both Boards if Necessary.. 3 or 4 if you have the desire..

We are currently discussing this "Conflict of interest" issue right now Chris...
I believe it would be in the average salon owners eyes.. but I am open for debate..and Sheila does provide me with plenty to issues to Debate about...

BD needs alot of reorganizing and we are doing so..carefully.
Then I beleive I will have the proper time to give any NAC....I would love to apart of one...and yes you are correct..is has been and will continue to be a passion of mine. To right the wrong that all the bad press has done to our industry. However,I do not see myself as "Norma Rae"..lol
The BOD will definately be watching ALL of the NAC's form and which one will surface first is not of importance to me.

What is important is "which one will make the greatess impact on our industry for the better"

I believe that BD when it gets potty trained will be able to support more then one NAC... but for now we are still working on the building the dog house!!

I will be calling BOB this week..ok Chris

Could someone explain to me what this vote is that is going on on the other board?
Is this a vote that will infact seat people in the position on "The Board" for NAC?

I e-mailed Lonn.but as of yet no reply.. that was only yesterday though.

This is what I think..

In my heart of hearts I believe we need to have Manufacturers, ITA and Distributors as well as salon owners involved in a NAC.

If there really is a vote going to take place..
I would like to see Max Recone from California Tan on the ballot.
as Max has voiced his opinion often on this NAC..and could help us very much.
Eric Dann from Formulated Solutions is very young and talented..AND FAIR!!

Larry Gaynor from Nail-Co would be great as a leading distributor and he has done advertising developing with great success..

Marty and Carol are distribs as well as owners so they could help in two areas not just one on this..

Shelia has a great direction she could move us as a group in.
Linda Bober shows quite a lot of strength as well as MJ, Ree,and Mitzi..

I feel Don Smith, Bob, Lonn and Solar(Steve) along with Rich C make for a level headed team of fellas that would deal with money honestly and look out for our BEST Interest as a whole.

There are a lot of positive people to help lead the way here..
So what is the game plan?

What are we doing with this? or am I going to fast..and we are really just in the talking stage?

Hi Christine',

There is a thread at STC for everyone to nominate people to the BoD for the NAC Lonn is starting. At first, everyone that contributed wanted to incorporate...and Lonn was prepared to do that. "I think" I saw that he was going to do that if that's what we wanted, but he thought it was wise to wait until there were more NAC members. I might be wrong on that, you'll have to go check the NAC forum.

Many of the people you named were nominated. Please add your other names to that thread !

Lonn is very interested in hearing ideas for the NAC he is working on for our industry. It DOES need involvement from everyone, not just salon owners. The cool thing is that NAC will benefit everyone if it gets support.

"Tanning salons" are always getting the short end of the stick...the NAC will someday help change that if it gets the support it needs. This is something everyone in the industry can help with.

The NAC needs imput from salon owners. Lonn can address your questions, and he's listening. He's got some great ideas on how to do this, but with the limited contributions, nothing can happen yet. He will help us, but we have to jump in and start helping produce these funds.

Lonn's got things started with the NAC !!!

Ree:

Good luck to all of you who are involved with "Lonn"s" NAC project!

The "Ask Don's Army" project to positively influence the media has already begun and if the early "results" are an indication, it will be successful (I have received several "thank you" messages from "media outlets" who received the "Tanning Terms" mailing. They also stated that they would place me on their list of people to call when they wanted FACTUAL information about UVR and/or tanning!).

As mentioned previously, there is plenty of work to go around for everyone who wants to help change the "image" of the indoor tanning industry for the better. The important thing (IMHO) is to get busy and translate "talk" (which is easy) into "action" (which is hard)!

ALL "NAC" groups (including yours) should understand that they must "walk their talk" if they expect to be supported!
