Not to get off subject but-
You know I too have had a problem with the T. Paper and P. Towels disappearing. I've thought I getting the Commercial folded (brown) towels dispenser and T. Paper Rolls (like you see in Walmart bathrooms) does anyone have a comment on this, I believe it would save me $ in the long run. |

VIP... I do not think it is good idea.
I would if it is such an issue.. Keep the TP under the front desk or in a locked cabinet...AND MAKE THE GIRLS COUNT THE ROLLS(every shift) They can refill as needed... I have found that when I have had issues with that it has been employees more times then customers. Seriously!! Garbage bags, cleaning products, TP, Paper towels.. and pens, pencils etc...you friggin name it. When poopoo keeps coming up missing. I make them count the whole friggin store.. FOR AT LEAST A FEW MONTHS...be surprised how many actually will copme to you and tell you who it is.. Last year I had a girl stocking up for her college year(first year in an apt) she returned all of the stuff after her friend busted on her.... Apparently this girl confused me with Wlamart She had returned.... TP(8rolls) papertowels (5), 3 full packs computer paper, pens, rewritable CDs, scissors, , penicls, rolls of garbage bags, make remover clothes(2 full packages), hair spray cans(4), 3 cans of spray deoderant, OMG the list goes on...More then I realized. She did all of this in ONE busy season. And I have a camera!!! She used the back door. Do not punish your customers for your employess. Make them responsible for the shop when you are not there...How does one walk out with a roll of papertowel ANYWAY???? Now if the TP is disappering...all I have to do is say ..."Hey do we need to start counting everything again .. you guys need to be more careful!!" Simple fix if it is a customer doing it.. Make sure you take the time to talk to them on the way out of the store..after they tanned and then used the restroom. MJ _________________ BigDog B.O.D. I have the white bi-fold paper towels from Sam's Wholesale and they seem to work pretty good and last alot longer than rolls of paper towels. No about toilet paper, only Northern here, I wouldn't supply stuff in the salon that I don't like to use myself. Since I'm kinda picky I figure if I won't mind using it then it is probably ok for clients.

How do you catagorize these rules? For example, do you have a table of contents in the front of your manuel such as: 1. Dress, appearance; 2. Cleaning; 3. Customer Relations
Just asking for ideas so that I can make my own handbook. |

Everyone reads the manual and signs that they have doneso and there is no problems...If anyone needs to have a copy to use off of I will send ya one. While this is a little late (I have been searching through old posts), I would love to see a copy of your manual. I am just starting out and will close on the salon (pre-existing) next week. I would like to have something put together but am not as knowledgeable as I need to be! Thanks Dawn dmdivinia@yahoo.com |

MJ and Group...
If anyone could email me also at motoxgirly15@yahoo.com, it would be wonderful. Its true when they say the hardest part about this job is hiring and firing someone. My latest girl used to work at my competitors salon and failed to put that on her application or bring it to my attention. I found out from one of my customers. VERY BAD! Best part is she is still best friends with the manager from there!!!!! And PS - my salon is a mess when I open the next day. I do have written rules, but maybe not as thorough as yours. Thanks in advance |
