Do any of you remember when Ford's slogan was "Is there a Ford in your future?"? Naw, you babies are all too young!
GOLF's (grumpy old lazy farts) like me DO remember this and it "sets the stage" for what follows. The question is "Is there a HP (high pressure) system in your future? But first, a little "background" information on HP. 1. Traditional HP systems. What I call "traditional" HP systems have a low UVB% (less than 1%). In our tests at the UVR-RI, HP systems consistently perform better on the TAS (tanning action spectrum) than does LP (low pressure), i.e., "tube type" systems. 2. New HP system. The "new" HP systems are characterized by having MORE than 1% UVB. In fact, many of the "new" systems have 2 - 3 percent UVB! [Note: This "change" reduces their TAS performance to more like you would expect with a 160 watt system.] One of the most common questions "Ask Don" gets about HP is whether or not "traditional" HP systems will produce enough vitamin D. [Note: I am going to answer this question but you are going to have to wait until the next post in this HP series!] 3. Future HP systems. We have been working (at the UVR Research Institute) on what we believe will become the "future" HP system and it will, we believe, move HP tanning into the "mainstream" of indoor tanning. In fact, a tanning salon without one of these "future" HP systems will, IMHO, be at a competitive disadvantage. So, the answer to the question "Is There A HP In Your Future?" is YES! Get ready! Don "GOLF" Smith PS: Doesn't ANYONE but me remember the Ford slogan? [ This Message was edited by: Don Smith on 2002-05-17 09:36 ] |

See the USA in your Chevrolet - coming back with some new 'classic' looking rides.
HP: How 'bout a chunk of filter glass that lets thru enough power UVB and 295 nm for stimulation of melanin & vitamin D, then blocks some nasty 320-340 nms, and transmits tons of 340-400 for browning? Think you touched on this in another thread. Steve |

Don,
I must be a GOLF too, remember these? Seven Up -- The Uncola Clairol -- Does she or doesn't she?" Charmin (P&G) -- Charmin, "Please don't squeeze the Charmin", Heineken -- Heineken refreshes the parts other beers cannot reach." Here one that I bet Chevrolet would like to forget: When an automaker chooses a spokesperson, they look for someone strong, dependable and trustworthy. A person of solid integrity who reflects the stability of the car company itself. That's why Chevrolet chose O.J. Simpson to appear in their 1970 Chevy Nova commercials. In the spot, the '70 Nova is compared feature by feature with O.J. Simpson - as in; the Nova has more horsepower than OJ Simpson and the Nova has more padding than OJ Simpson. hehehehe[ This Message was edited by: Erebus623 on 2002-05-17 10:27 ] |
