Hi all,
just wanted to know what stereos are in you salons, if you have one, and who gets to be the "control Freak" of the tuner and cd player..lol

There becomes a point where the music could be just too loud, but a loud nyce system could make people think there at a party when they tan..lol..look at Abercrombie and Fitch...there music BLASTS so loud, that you can hear it down the mall, and when you walk through the mall, everyone has at least 1 bag of abercrombie, including me!

Could they be putting subliminal messages in their "private Abercrombie mix"??????????lol

We have one main stereo system. Each room has a volume control knob. Yes, it does get pretty loud sometimes. Especially when the rooms closest to the lobby have the radio cranked. But, I really like not having competing radios. At our salon, the person working the desk is the person controlling the station choice.

radios in each room with cd player.
I got these really nice units they are flat and hang on the wall.
Get a variety of cds and let your customer choose one.
It is better this way. Some peole dont like the music that is playing on one station.
Let them choose. After all it is their time and you want them to enjoy it

I can see the radio issue from both perspectives. On one hand, I do enjoy being able to listen to whatever I want while I am tanning. On the other hand, I do not enjoy walking down the hall listening to 5 radios blaring with competing stations. Just the thought of this gives me a migrane.

all boots are wired to the front desk, the person on the computer controls what is played, we use the radio as well as the computer and mp3 files. The clients have no say. The music can be heard all over the salon so if each booth had its own music source it would be too noisy. Clients don;t find tis a problem, but I can see if you had to tan for 20-30 min that would be a different story.
Oh don't remind me the olden days the shock on laying naked on a freezing cold acrylic only to be roasting, basting in sweat on a rock hard slab uncomfortable as a morgue slab, bored out of your mind as time is ticking away slowly, counting the minutes, checking the timer again and again, untill the damb thing shuts off and dreading the job of wiping off all the sweat and the struggle to get your duds back on while your all hot sweaty and sticky and shaking and dizzy from dehydration, dieing for a cold drink of water.
Thank you Jesus for the booth and the 10 min tan.

There is a GOD!

ALso, if anybody has a tropical themed or beach themed tanning salon, i would suggest buying the "THE BEACH" Soundtrack....when I listen to it, it places you right in the middle of a tropical beach...
and also, have some beach, or coconut inscences burning......VERY RELAXING.....

you know it is quit funny most of my clients that prefer to use a bed, dont listen to any music because they just want to relax.
I dont have one in my booths and that is the biggest complaint.
Now I must ad stereos to the booths.
Thank god for beds.

Its strange that your clients come to "relax" instead of tan something they can do much more comfortably at home in thier own bed for free, unless they must have really bad home lives, thats so sad.
Our clients come to tan first and relax second.
How can they relax on a rock hard window in a pool of sweat? Is your salon at the north pole?
Sounds bogus.

You only have music in your beds and not your booths why?, That is bogus, all comercial booths come with speakers, something about your story is very fishy.
Your over heated and not thinking straight, cool off your will feel better.

Chippp - Your two previous posts are exactly why a lot of people are unhappy with you right now. I'm sorry that are so biased in regards to beds. But, I have to agree with Key on this one. We have a lot of customers that come to our salon specifically to relax. They enjoy their 20 minute vacation away from the rest of the world. They don't have to worry about standing for 10 minutes. They don't have a cell phone ringing in their ear. They don't have their spouse or children bothering them with problems. I'm not saying that I don't like booths and that I don't have customers that like them. But, at some point, everyone needs a little time to themselves. I don't know about everyone else, but my home life is too hectic to allow me time to myself.
