Mitzi,
How did your customer appreciation day go? Did you get a lot of response from your radio advertisement? Do you feel it was worth the investment? Did you get any NEW tanners? How often and for what period of time did it play before that Friday? |

Mitzi - Please give me the scoop. I'm pricing radio ads right now and am trying to do a comparison. I know the area is completely different, but I am curious as to what times you ran the ad, how often, and turnout. Thanks.

Just thought you might want to know. A lot of local radio stations will give you free advertising for product. So you may be able to give away a tanning package for 2 spots. Small stations will often work with you. I did not realize the amount of people who tune in to our local AM station to find out local news, school info. etc.
When I open I am going to give away packages for air time. I can't imagine it not working out for me. Good luck! |

Sorry I am just now catching up on tantalk. I took a couple dayz off to re-group. hehehe
My radio spots did very well for my customer appreciation day. They ran 4-6 times per day from Tues - Fri. Morning and evening drive time and lunch time. I also think there were couple really late at night. I had 22 sixty seconds spots. Cost was $500. This is somthing I will do again. I really wanted to do a live remote, but that was more $$$ than I could justify shelling out. 3 hour remote with spots all week costs $1400. Possibly in May the Motorcycle shop next door wants to do something and I am going to look at it. We can do a block party and share the expense. Now I am going to ask my rep. about those free spots for products.. Thanks for the tip. |

Another great idea for your radio spots is to go in and record them yourself. I do this all the time and customers love it. New clients always remark that they heard "Stacey" on the radio and they wanted to come in and see what it was all about. It's a great way to get your salon name and your name out there...invite clients in to your "home" and they will appreciate it.

I was on a radio spot many years ago (boss took me and another employee to lunch and told us what we were doing on the way to station - whooaaa). We cut up and laughed so much from nervousness, it took an hour to do a 60 second spot. Don't know if I could do it again. It was fun, though.

Wow Tamar, that was mean of your boss not to warn you!
Mitzi, I sound "Newfie" but I don't care...you are fabulous as you are, accent or no. Wish me luck, I am going to record tomorrow for our big anniversay sale! Stacey |
