Why aren\'t you using that?

I was showing lotions to a guy today who had a ton of questions.... he was complimentary about my tan and wanted to know what I used. I told him what I used earlier in the year and what I was using now. But I was showing him Helix... he showed interest in it and was dressed impeccably, which told me he had the wallet for it. He says "Well if it's so good, why aren't you using it?" I was honest and told him I was a lotion whore and had gotten dark with it last year. This year I wanted something different. After he walked away I thought of an even better answer. I wanted to tell him that indoor tanning lotions are to tanners what shoes are to women. We want them all.

Laurie....You are too much!!!
Tooo funny.. my standard response to people who ask that.

"I try all the lotion we carry, and it wouldn't be on those shelves if they didn't pass the 1 + 5 test"

Of course they are going to ask. " What is that?"
I explain, "First I have to like it...
then I have a minumum of 5 other clients test it..If they give me positive feed back then I carry it"

Ok at that point they are usually interested.

Soo since I usually have this conversation at the end of my tour with newbies... I ask them if they would like to be a tester on a new lotion I am considering adding to my product line permanetly.
I offer a free sample for new members..
(to combat the competitors first visit free!!)

So now I only have to open a few bottles a week as opposed to giving away sample packettes..
I also have the chance to convert the "I have never used a lotion before people"

When they ask me my fav...
Then I say "thats like asking a women what is her fav pair of shoes!!!"
