Virgin Tanners!

I love indoor tanning virgins. They have to be my favorite client right now.

I get them before...

1) ...some other salon fills their head full of crap.

2) ...they buy a lotion that's wrong for them.

3) ...they ever have a chance to burn in a tanning bed.

4) ...they damage their eyes with UV light.

5) ...they have a chance to dry out their skin by tanning without lotion.

I have to agree. And, they absolutely love to learn about the tanning process. I had a few of these the other day. I was walking on a cloud the rest of the day. They all thanked me for spending so much time with them and answering all of their questions and more.

I love it when on the second season they tan they come to me, complianing they got a gift certificate from someone for another salon.( maybe they just tried a coupon .. but that is usually what they tell me.)

They couldn't believe the difference in salons and color, cleanliness, staff, everything...
"I told you so" is what I want to say.. But I just welcome them back.. hehehehe

I enjoy this as well, the educating of new clients. I also love when clients come back to my salon without even finishing their package at another place. Aplce they just went to "check out."

I love it, I just "spied" on one of my competitors who is selling their sessions at bankrupcy rates. Now I know why, I went in and gave the attendant the third degree, poor woman, she must have been about 60 year old, not that's anything wrong with that, but she really had know idea what the tanning business was all about. Just clean the beds, with that coarse brown paper towelling, and send them in. According to her if you can go for 2 ten minute sessions without getting too hot, you'll be okay for 20 minutes the next time. She knew nothing about lotions, and they only carry one line, Australian Gold, eeeeeeeek! I saw a small Smart Tan "poster" on the wall and asked if they were members, she had know idea what I was talking about. I was embarassed for her. The owners obviously have know idea what they are doing and therefore train the staff with the same knowledge. This place should be the poster salon for what has given indoor tanning a bad rep!!!!!!!!!!
