Perfect:
Before I attempt to answer your question, I need a little more information. 1. Are you considering adding more than the three sunbeds you have now? 2. Will one or more of your new sunbeds be "upgrade" (i.e., 160 watt reflector) units? 3. Do you have room for 3 sunbeds and a stand up unit? 4. Why do you want to upgrade your existing sunbeds? 5. Will you sell your old sunbeds yourself or will you be wanting to trade them in? Thanks in advance for the info. Don |

Hi Don and thank you for the reply, first
of all the 3 beds are starting constantly fall apart and are becoming a problem getting someone to work on them. I'm going to sell them myself, we only have room for 3 beds right now because the Salon also does hair and nails and body raps, we also adding a massage therapist. Still need your ADVISE! |

Perfect:
Here are some thoughts that may help you reach your purchasing decision. 1. The "good news" is that you won't make a mistake no matter which of the four alternatives you choose. 2. There is always a "trade off" between price and quality. Only you can decide whether you want to drive a Cadillac or a Chevy. 3. I have not had any experience with Sontegra sunbeds. However, I have a lot of respect for Andy and I would be willing to give his beds a try just because of him 4. The SunDash sunbeds are very well made. We have some 32R's and one 32 P and they are real workhorses that NEVER break down. The "entry level" sundash units are a little bit "flatter" than some of the other choices and we find that large men (and women) sometimes feel a little bit "crowded" in them. I have a lot of respect for Jerry Devaney (Marketing) and Steve Doty (Technical) of Sun Ergoline. 5. We purchased puretan sunbeds last year for our new salon and I have no reason to second guess that decision because they have far exceeded our expectations. The Circe 33 is a GREAT entry level sunbed; the Ellipse III is a good high intensity unit; and the Quantum 51 is a wonderful standup unit (the SunDazzler by Heartland is also a qualilty product). Roger Brown of puretan is one of the "good guys" of the industry! 6. My next comments regarding ETS sunbeds may surprise you and I doubt if I would have made them 6 months ago. Pat and I visited the ETS plant in January and I can tell you that it is a "world class" manufacturing facility. We have some of their older sunbeds and it is lucky that I am handy because they always need work. However, I would have no hesitancy in considering their current products for the new salon we are planning. Josh Bowman and Bill Pipp of ETS are "quality" people and I have tremendous respect for Trevor Gray. 7. Be sure and check the "sunlamp compatibility" restrictions set forth by the manufacturer. The last thing a salon owner needs is to be "locked into" being able to use only ONE sunlamp. 8. I would recommend that you consider adding two "entry level" (20 minute maximum timer interval) sunbeds and one 160 watt stand up unit. That way you can "tip toe" into the "upgrade" market. (It is my opinion that the first 160 watt unit you should buy is a stand up unit. Don't forget that with a 10 minute MTI, you can put a lot of people through a standup unit each day.) 9. Make sure you go tan in the units you are considering before you make your final purchase decision. 10. Timing is everything and right now it is a "buyers market" which means that you can negotiate a very favorable deal. 11. You may want to take a look at the TanAmerica and Heartland line of sunbeds. I don't have any personal experience with TanAmerica products but I know a lot of people who swear by them. We have 3 Heartland SunDazzler stand up units and they are unbelievably reliable; if the snbeds are as good, they should be excellent performers! 12. Good luck! If I can be of further assistance, feel free to call me (1-520-975-0180 - Mobile). Don[ This Message was edited by: Don Smith on 2002-04-05 20:10 ] |

Jim:
Chippp didn't see that I recommended that Perfect consider buying ONE standup unit, not a whole herd of them. LOL Besides, Perfect isn't interested in wooden, home-made ones like Chippp has. Don |
