i had forgotten that link was on there... i personally post on their message forum all the time. I don't buy from online sites. I put that link on there when i didn't know about this site or other like sites. I don't have to justify what i have on my webpage to anyone. I know who i buy my lotion from and it's not from any online site. shall i take it off just to pacify u? because i still go to that site every day and post on their message boards also.

Actually though if you are offering a link to your website here on Tantalk... and on your website is a link to a Lotion Pirate site... some explanation would be expected. I've never visited your site, so I was not aware that it was even there.
Awhile back I took a lot of heat for even having the Tantalk url on my website. Seems folks from another board were nervous that they would start seeing tanners visiting their site once they found their way here, via my webpage. (rolling eyes) As if I cared anyway... The point is, the world is a big bad place and some people feel threatened by things that go against a certain philosophy. While I could care less what you have on your site. (not meaning I don't care, but meaning that it's your business and you're able to make your own decisions) What does concern me is the content of urls offered on this site. It's always been our policy that links to pirate sites are removed... you site links to one. That's why folks might be a little upset. |

I never knew about the site, until it was mentioned here. I would have never gone to it had I not been curious as to why everyone was so upset. My reason as to why it should have been handled privately.

Thanks for the good laugh everyone....I am a new salon owner and a neat freak. My employees know my pet peeves and one of them is SOCK LINT! They like to point it out to me when someone leaves cause they know it grosses me out. The lotion is everywhere too. I have found that some of the most "put together" classy women make the biggest messes and it floors me. I am learning something new everyday!

So if I post on the LotionBarn website and even occasionally ORDER FROM THEM when my salon doesn't carry a specific item I"m looking for.... may I still contribute? I mean, I've tanned for years. I'm knowledgable about many lotions as I've tried a ton. And I have extensive retail management experience....... Does this make me persona non grata? Do you only want to hear from customers who know NOTHING about discounted lotion sites? Do you only want to hear from customers who are new to tanning? |

Njchica,
We want to hear from everyone conected to the tanning industry. reguardless of which side of the counter you are on. Customer new to tanning, will inevidably find out about the Cheap Online lotion sites if they spend enough time here. the experience customer who has tried them all is equally welcome to comment too. I hope you understand our mission here. The internet diversion problem actually hurts the customer in thelong run. How much of a deal do you reall get after paying a S/H fee. Your salon owners knows you didn't buy it from her or him. Whether you bought it online,at a beauty supply place, or another salon that you hate the beds but get your lotion cheap from. I am being honest here.. so now you want a new package and a deal.. after tanning with me for XX months never purchasing a bottle from me.rarely upgrading. How much of a deal do you think you are going to get. I personally give my regulars..LOYAL customers free upgrades, and Special discounts. When a new lotion comes in I offer them a free sample, lots of them use my facial tanning accelorater.. and never pay a dime. Some of them have permanent discounts in the PC under their names. They buy lotions, after tans, you name it. They are loyal to me and my salon so I repay them for thier loyalty. As for the online shoppers. Don't kid yourself we know who buys what. And I have a few of them most don't admit where they bought it. Thwey RARELY get a "special price" they don't bring a coupon in for. Sooo keep that in mind next time.. I hope this doesn't offend anyone, I am not trying to be rude...just honest. MJ |
