I will be opening my salon in about 1 to 2 weeks, and with my love of bath products I started researching the topic, going into unique bath stores, searching the internet and have found so many great items that I decided to turn part of my salon into one of these unique places to get great bath, body and candle products. I also would like to sell toe rings/anklets but everthing that I look at seems to very poor quality-does anybody have a company that has good quality toe ring products? Please let me know, and also if anyone is interested I would be glad to help you all out in the bath world-after my salon opens I am planning on opening a bath products store carrying all of the items that I have researched-putting them in my salon is a nice way of getting my feet wet! I am extremely excited about it all.

Forever Bronze - I know Emmanuel has rings, toe rings, etc. I don't carry them, but I have seen their catalog and they have some pretty cute stuff.
Start out slow with the bath and body products. Do a test sample in your salon. We tried this and it did not go over well in our area. |

Doesn't go over well here either. I have brought in various bath supplies and nail supplies and both of these things just do not sell for me. I do carry toe rings and they sell very well but my supplier is in Canada so thats no good for you.

ProTan - I went through a company called Home Grown Soaps. I really liked the products and they sell wholesale. But, we have too much bath and body competition in our area. I would rather focus on tanning.
They have a website: http://www.homegrownsoaps.com If I remember correctly, you have to contact them to get wholesale pricing. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: tangirl on 2002-02-10 14:07 ] |

Tangirl/Malibu Stacey-I completely agree about the whole starting small, when I first started looking into it I had all these great ideas and I was so excited that I did not sit back and realize that this jump into bath products might be a jump in the wrong direction, so I am going to try a few things and see how it goes. Thank you for the advice it is much appreciated.
Do either of you carry any bath products from the tanning lines? If so, how do those do for you? |

We carry the Glimra after-tan lotion. We cannot keep it on the shelves. We've tried other ones and this one has gone over the best so far. We are trying to educate about after-tan products more so we can expand in this area.

Total Immersion has gone well for us already. All I have to do is show them where it says "tan extender" and they buy it. Also, it smells nice and clean, but not a strong scent, so it will not clash with perfume.
JA Salt Scrub is the best. I let people try it in my salon and they will buy it that day. Plus my nail Tech uses it when she does manicures. That sells it for me too. shallee |
