I don't know that size really matters. We decided against supporting SWB and did not do an ad in the yellow pages this year. Although, with our name, we are the first listing in the book.

The majority of my new customers are drive-bys and referrals. I guess it all depends on your location.

Personally, before I became an owner, I did not look in the yellow pages. Referrals only.

I get a lot of traffic from yellow pages. I get calles all the time that want to know hours and exactly where I am located. (See I didn't put the exact address in the yellow page ads so I could get them to call me.) And on the questionaire they have to fill out a lot of them do put yellow pages or phone book. This next year I may go a little bigger but now to big. That bill can be hard to pay in the winter.
