Sandman, we are not a regulated state, so we can either furnish or sell. I chose to sell. When I opened 5 weeks ago I just decided to carry the .50 Winkees, Sunclips - $4, and Super Sunnies and Peepers - 2.20 each. Not one person has balked and I have made a pretty little penny from the sales. I offer to keep them in a zip lock bag with their name on it under the front desk.

Make sure you wear rubber or latex gloves when handling dirt towels, the towels should be looked at as contaminated with any number of germs, some one could had wipped their sweaty *** with herpies on it.
Towels must be washed with HOT yes HOT water and BLEACH EVERY TIME!
To handle soilded the towels with bare hands is high risk.
Staff that are not provided this protection can go after you for damages if they sould ever catch anything.
The labor board will also find you negligent.
Remember dirty towels ARE DIRTY!

Do you all loose loaner googles to theft?

We lose about a pair of goggles every six months, not too bad. We also sell winkees and goggles which are really emphasizing so I can eliminate the providing and just sell.

We provide Wink ease with each tan and sell peepers. It is a bit more expensive than providing goggles, but for what we charge its a small price to pay.

Thanks. And yes tamar, we are required to keep them "in the vicinity." Some salons here have them hanging in the room or laying on the towel... ****, one "joint" keeps them in container of sanitizer and you have to reach in and get them.
We are small beach town here and the Board of Health has the ruling word. They were so firm in their meeting that I hesitate to test them.

I have a hamper in each room and ask the customer to place their dirty towels in it. Each room has towels, baby wipes, deoderant, goggles, spray bottles and goggle sanitizer.

I have a large counter that has everything underneath; clean towles, extra towles, loaner goggles to replace in the rooms after each use, cleaning supplies, and my hamper. Near the end of the day, the towels that were used are washed in Hot water with bleach and then dried, and ready to be folded and put back into circulation.
GLOVES ARE A MUST!!! I don't like the idea of touching someone else's sweat with my bare hands, nor the idea of anything else!
