I have read several posts where salon owners talk about health insurance for their employees. My questions are: Where do you find a company that provides health insurance benefits to a small salon? And how much of the premium does the salon owner pay? Are the deductibles so high that it's like not having any insurance at all? Anyone who has info/answers let me know...I am trying to look into this issue. I asked several of the insurance companies at the show, and they did not have health insurance coverage. Thanks in advance!!!

Great question twosweet. I also have been looking and am coming up empty. I have checked with almost every co that was at the show with no luck. Also having trouble finding someone who will write for "wind" as I am just a few blocks from the gulf on one side and the bay on the other. Could someone please help us out here? Come on Bronze...give it up. Thanks.

Hey guys! I called my auto insurance agent. His brother is also an agent, but does health insurance. He worked a really good deal for just me. If you want his info I can get it for you. I did this to keep all of my insurance with a family that I know and trust. You might want to call some people in your area and see what you can find.

Steve,
I went to Humana's web site you provided, but my state wasn't listed. So I emailed them and asked a few questions. Thanks for your info. Tangirl, Since my state wasn't on their list, they may not provide coverage in Tn. So if you don't mind send me that info so that I can check into it also. Thanks to ya both twosweet4u_tn |

We called an insurance broker in our area. He gave us quotes on 5 different companies with a range of levels of coverage. The quotes were for employers with 2-50 employees.
We are offering health insurance this fall for our full time management staff. Which actually is our daughter and a 'day' manager. There are guidlines for how many hours an employee has to work to become eligible. These guidelines vary from state but a broker would know what your requirements are. Right now Drew and I are covered under my policy through my part time employer. (I am an accountant for a mining company) |

I have a friend in the insurance business that is involved in a group called
care entree'. It is for us that want to offer our employees something but not maybe a 250.00 a month insurance plan.. This is a group that has thousands of Dr.s, Specailist, Hospitals, Dentist, and even veternarians.... This card gets you up to 50% discount off visits, hospital stay, etc.. It costs $59.95 a month I should be receiving the info today or tomorrow....... I'll keep you posted, ask pertinet questions and I will call and get the answers.. Tommy |
