\"Follow Up\" Promotions

What incentives do you give your "special occasion" tanners to come back after the big event. Homecoming, Prom, Wedding, Christmas party, Class Reunions always see your "special occasion" tanner. But how do you lure that person back? What is there incentive to stay tan after their vacation cruise or trip to Barbados?

I know one salon owner that gives his tanners something special if they send him a postcard from wherever they are. His salon is decorated with them... some laminated and some are really racy and fun to look at. How about a promotion that you offer your tanners who are coming in to tan after their big event? Entice them to keep coming back and maintain their tan. Offer them a lotion, groovy eye wear, or one or two upgrades to a VHR, stand-up or even high pressure with package purchase.

What do you do to keep them coming back and make them regulars?

That's a cool idea, Laurie! What does he offer? I give a superbed visit to any bride or groom who is tanning for their wedding, but this is a neat idea to get them to come back. Maybe, so much off their package or a bottle of lotion.

I don't recall specifically what he does... but I know that he posts here on the board, perhaps he'll share.

But a number of things you could do is give a lotion upon their return. Or you could offer them an upgrade session for the cost of one of their regular paid sessions. You could also give them a percent off... or so many (like one or two) additional free tans with their next package. Play with it, have fun with it. See what pulls them in the most!

I did specials on 10 tan packages for members of the wedding party. Two of my members got married on the 6th. We tanned 2 of the bridesmaids, the bride, the groom, and a 16yo niece of the groom.

Laurie you remembered !

We give a free session for a vacation post card. The level of session depends on if the post card is funny of features busty naked women or not. If you send some sunset card with dear staff written on it you BUBKIS.

OF COURSE I REMEMBERED!!! LOL... how could I forget? Those cards were so great! And some of them are just awesome... so when I go on my honeymoon and send you a card, can I get a great tan too?

Melissa... there is nothing wrong with sitting down with future brides and doing a wedding consultation to get her to achieve her desired results. I would at that time introduce the idea of maintaining her tan after her honeymoon is over. You can use your discretion and give whatever bonus you'd like and perhaps even develop over time a general guideline for wedding tanning planning. It could become a great service to provide to brides and/or grooms.
