John shows up at his work station and seems to be having problems. You walk up to him to see what is wrong. His eyes are watery and his speech is somewhat slurred. But, you don't smell any alcohol. You have some concern that he may hurt himself while he is working.
What would you do? What discipline is appropriate? How would you write it up? |

First I would ask if he is alright. If he said yes, then I would watch his behavior and see if he is high on somthing or needs medical attention. depending on the results I would give him fair warning that the next time he shows up high he is terminated. If he is sick or injured send him for medical treatment and then home until he is better.
