We have acquired an exhisting salon that had two beds, one stand-up, and 7 passive excercise tables. The stand-up had to go since it was made in someones garage with no certifications. My question is that we want to deversify in our small town and add message, nails, etc. but are not sure how to do so. I.e. renting space in our salon, making them employees, contract work, or what. Do any of you have any suggestions on what we can deversify with and how to go about it.

I have a hair nails and tanning salon. I would tell you that for the money, a commision structure is the way to go, if they have enough clientele to support them. Also, depending on how much business you can bring to them. I will tell you that booth rental works, thats what I do now but will look for commissioned workers in the future. Others may tell you that it is a pain and trust me it aint easy but it pays the rent.

I'm not sure about the booth rental because I would like to be able to maximize profits from the space, but I'm also not sure about them as an employee because of all the headaches with down time that may cause. What is typical charge for booth rental around the U.S.?How are the commishions structured? Thanks,
