hehe that was funny. nobody forces people to read the verses. You can't please everybody either. [This message has been edited by solid (edited 06-14-2001).]

Laurie, that was hilarious!!!!! LMAO!!!solid, no, you can't please everyone but at the same time people may feel alienated to have someone elses religious beliefs shoved on them. Just my 2cents worth. ------------------bober96@megsinet.com www.suntanning.com Moderatorwww.tanlovers.com AdministratorSupporter of TSO

The majority of salons, if not all, are privately held companies. If management (owners) feels compelled to display Bible verses for inspiration it is their perogative. I could personally care less if someone takes offense to it. I don't care if those people come into my salon or not. If they are offended, they can go somewhere else.

What is Hindu and Buddist?Michael Quote:Originally posted by BOBER96:Just some food for thought...Not everyone subscribes to a Christian religion. In all fairness, you could consider putting quotes from various religions. Don't you think that someone that is Hindu or Buddist, etc might feel a little ousted?

Ha, this looks like a good one to jump into.I am reminded of a TV commerical I saw once. Two girls were walking down a dark street very late at night, maybe into the wee hour of the morning. I think there car broke down. The fog was rising and the streets were desolate ( getting the picture, it was a scary situation for two people to be in)Up ahead they see 4 guys walking towards them, no other cars on people in site, just these 4 guys. The girls hearts began pounding as their eyes met the eyes of the upcoming men, the closer they got to the guys the more intense the approach seemed.Bingo, they met and the 4 guys just left from a late christian held revival. If these were your daughters would you be glad these guys were christians, or would you be more happier if they were satan worshipers ( a legal religion). Some say it doesn't matter what verses are displayed on a board but what verses would we hoped these guys were schooled in???>??Just food for thought......

Tommy, I fail to see what religios faith has to do with that scenario (short of the satanic worship). There are bad people in any faith.

How anyone could find inspirational verses offending is beyond my understanding. Choosing a verse for the day is something I actually look forward to . The words help me focus and improve my attitude which reflects back onto the customer. I believe that is one of the many reasons that the salon I work for is so successful. It's not like we beat customers with Bibles when the enter the salon . I haven't run across any Hindu's or Buddists as of yet and I'm sure if they approached me about the verses and felt offended, I would gladly listen to their point of view and pray for them.

Why would you pray for them?? If they are of a different faith you would feel that to be wrong and in need of help? Religion is a touchy subject with many people and a personal thing.

Is praying for someone wrong in your eyes as well? Of course there are people who have different beliefs. I'm not saying it's wrong to do so, the Bible does.
