I'm going out to the Carribean in a week and decided I should try a tanning salon before I head there so I don't get fried once I take my shirt off down there. However, I have fair skin w/ quite a few moles. Could you please tell me the best way for gaining a tan that not only looks good (which is imperative for being down there), but will also help acclimate my body to the sun down in the Carribean? ThanksFred

HEY FRED, THE BEST YOU CAN DO TO GET YOUR SKIN ACCLAMATED TO THE SUN DOWN THERE IS TO GO TO A TANNING SALON AND TAN FOR ABOUT 5 OR 7 MINUTES FROM WHAT YOU DESCRIBED ABOUT YOUR SKINTYPE. IF YOU GO EVERY OTHER DAY, YOU WILL GET SOME COLOR. REMEMBER TO USE A GOOD TANNING LOTION, SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF JOHN ABATE-MELAPLUS. THIS STUFF WORKS WONDERS. IT HELPS BUILD A BASE TAN, AND IT HELPS MAINTAIN YOUR TAN LONGER. ALSO THEY SELL TANNING BRONZERS THAT YOU APPLY YOURSELF, THAT DO NOT STREAK, OR LOOK FAKE. THE NAME IS TANPERFECT, BUT I ONLY RECOMMEND THIS AFTER YOU TAN A FEW TIMES SO THAT IT BLENDS IN WITH YOUR COLOR. ALSO WHEN OUTDOORS REMEMBER TO WEAR SUNSCREEN. THE SUN EMITS HIGHER LEVELS OF UVA AND UVB LIGHT, THAN A TANNING SALON DOES. IN A TANNING SALON, UVA AND UVB LIGHT ARE EMITTED, BUT IT IS IN A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT. ALSO REMEMBER TO MOISTURIZE BEFORE AND AFTER YOU TAN. DRY SKIN DOES NOT TAN AS WELL. IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS EMAIL ME @ TAYLORRLE @HOTMAIL.COM. GOOD LUCK--RENEE
