A new law about salon walls is being made.If the walls in your salon don't go all the way to the ceiling UV rays are reflecting into the common areas of salons and damaging the eyes of staff. Staff could be exposed to high levels of uv rays for hours at a time in your salon! some for as many as 8 hours a day! This is a VERY IMPORTANT matter, all salons should take care of this before they are forced to by the new coming law.Show your staff you care about their eye safety before you are forced to.If uv light is visible in your common areas , or bouncing off the ceilings into your common areas you need to look at solving this health risk! You provide protection to you clients but do you provide the same protection to your staff in your work place?

I don't remember it may have been in a trade mag.We had that problem in our first location! We fixed the walls right away. The new location we are in was designed for this from the start. The staff had redning of the eyes and irritation like sand was in their eyes.We had already thought about this and where watching or any problems like this!I even noticed myself, I had the same discomfort that I get if I am out in the sun too much with out sun glassed it is much more evident if you are boating, from the reflection of uv rays on the water. When we fixed the walls and stopped the uv rays from bleeding into the common areas the problem stopped! The same thing can happen with black lights. They come with warning about using them in work environments and long term exposure in work places.

Geez!!!!!! I had the state inspector for nail salon come in for inspection before I opened the nail station in my tanning salon. He said that the ultraviolet sterilizer emitted more rays than the beds would over the top of the walls. So the sterilizer is more likely to cause prob. than the tanning beds. Dumb law and he fought it with the state board and won....har de har

Because of the eye irritate to staff in the past we have no uv light bleeding into common areas. The tanning rooms are fully in closed. This protects the eyes of people that are not wearing protective goggles in the common areas. We believe in safety and are not waiting for laws to change to protect our clients and staff. The eye irritation caused by our first salon design "walls not going to ceilings" was fixed as soon as we noticed the problem.

so Chipppp you say this in a trade magazine? Which one? You don't know because it wasn't thier. I hate to start replying to your stupid posts simply by saying prove it but I have to ask you once again to prove it. The truth is thier is no such problem your eyes maybe watering from that stuff you've been smoking but other than that thier is no problem with "bleeding" UV light
