Before I opened my salon I was a meeting planner for a big firm in NYC. We did a ton of give-a-way type stuff. I have always liked the service and prices that I received from Kevin Baldwin at AdForm advertising in Baltimore Maryland. He can do anything! I have ordered fleece vests, pens, puzzle balls, swiss army knives to name a few. His number is 800.345.3543. He will send you samples and personally see the order through from start to finish. Let him know that Michelle Roy from Aloha Tan/PwC sent you and I think he will take care of you.Let me know how it goes.Shelly

Here at Sandollar Mike purchased a vinyl cutter and the design software. We can make our own full size banners and signs for anything we need. We can make sale banners, or magnets, or signs, and we can also add lettering to our doors without having to go through the trouble of getting a company to do it. Plus a sign company is very expensive, so we can do most of this and save a lot. solid

Solid - You mention doing your own banners ~ this is something that I definately interested in. Since our promotions change and we are always having new ideas, I thought it would be easier and more economical for me to print my own.Can you tell me how the banners are made? Are they printed from your computer and if so, where do you get the blank banners to use in the printer?

I used to work for a printing company and we used a company called Carlson Craft whenever we had a customer who needed specialty printing. Keep in mind that this sort of printing can be high unless you order in large quantities.

We buy rolls of vinyl (in any color just about) and banners (usually about 10 at a time). The banner is actually designed on a computer and then sent over to the vinyl cutter. Vinyl is fed into the cutter and it cuts out the banner. You then have weed the vinyl...which means removing excess vinyl that isn't needed by hand. Then you have to apply transfer tape to the vinyl and then you have to spray the banner and lay the vinyl on it. You spray the banner with some applying solution (I make my own out of cleaner and water) so you can move the vinyl on the banner to center it etc. Then you have to let it dry. You can spot dry it with a towel, and wait about ten minutes or more and remove the transfer tape. The whole process takes just a little while. Our cutter is made by roland. And I'll have to look to see where we order our supplies. Cutters and software can be very expensive, but if you plan on making a lot of banners, it pays off.solid
