Is there any standardized value for used tanning beds or does everyone just make these figures up?

I think it's all made up based on whatever the seller can get for it. Ask lots, if you get it bonus. If not you can come down in price and still make a buck. I might be wrong though.

TCN, we judge the value of equipment by what we think we can resell it for minus our cost of items (parts, acrylics,lamps, etc.) to get the bed back to almost new status!

Basically what I said, just add on the refurbishing costs. I think what we's like to know is how does someone determine what the basic worth is, beofre refurb costs.

What Bible are yall reading?
I have the Bible of Indoor Tanning from 1992 by Tan West Publishing
and Chapter 12 is Custormer Relations.
Chapter 5 in my Tanning Bible is where they talk about selecting tanning equipment on page 51 it disusses used beds but not pricing . Was that a joke about your tanning Bible if not I want to read it when was it published and by who?

A blue book would be great !!!

I usually use a percentage of invoice price when setting my prices. If the bed is less than a year old I start the price at 60%. I am in a different situation though since I sell as is. My clients don't want me putting any money back into them. Another thing that influences my price is how long I have had it. The longer it stays with me the cheaper it gets.
