USED BED PRICES---GET REAL PEOPLE - tanTALK

What is it with people selling used beds for top dollar. They are used and depreciate faster than an American car. If you want to sell your beds to us, please, and I emphasize please, do your homework and get a price that is fair. We will not respond if you try to sell us your 7 year old bed with 12,000 hours for $3,000 less than you paid new! We didn't just fall off the turnip truck yesterday. Thanks.... The TanTek Group

TanTeks, I get this feeling you buy used beds and resale them, so humor us turnip lovers. Using your example, what would you be willing to sale that same bed for to somebody that's in the same business as yours? and what would you sale that bed for if you bought it for several thousand dollars less and was reselling it to me?

First off let me reply to standby, who has a question and not a dumb a** statement like MJ who knows nothing about me or what I do. I am not in the business of selling beds. However, TanTek is a tanning bed service company located in Saint Petersburg, Florida and we do have a large list of clients that often want used beds for various reasons. I buy them, recert or recondition, and sell them for what I have invested. I usually mark them up no more than $200 depending on my time invested. You see MJ, in business you give deals to the people who make you money. As for being a bottom feeder, I sure didn't get a beach house, open a tanning salon, and a repair company by selling used tanning beds. When your beds go down, I'm sure you call on us "bottom feeders" to fix your problem...and as they say in the south, "we 'aint' cheap!" Who knows, perhaps one day you will need service and I may be the one fixing your bed....now wouldn't that be ironic. Maybe I'll open next door and show you how to run a salon.

Why would an uninvolved third party care what a buyer paid a seller of a piece of equipment?

I guess sellers should accept less than the full value of their equipment so brokers can step into the deal and resell it at a profit.
