Sorry to hear that the salon is closed. I don't promote the lotions you have for sale otherwise I'd try to help you re-coup some costs. May I ask what happened to cause the closure?

To be honest I don't think I was totaly prepared. I wasn't making enough to even cover my operating costs. I opened in the slow season for starters and then it takes time to even get a customer base. The customers I did have were devistated when I closed. I was competing with 3 other tanning salons in our small town and ours was by far the cleanest, it was nicely decorated, and had all brand new equipment. I don't know how the other salons in that town even make it. I did enjoy it while it lasted though and someday I hope to give it another shot. Tiffanie

There is a "salon" here that has been open for yrs. with about 4 different owners. With the same beds they started with 25 yrs. ago. They don;t re-invest what they make from the business, no lamp changes, no upgrading, not even towels for their clients, no nuttin'. An yet they are still in business despite the fact that their clients have to buy 30 tans to get 10 tan result from a salon like mine, it's the dolar store mentality, who knows what goes thru the minds of consumers. Thyey seem to think that cheaper is better even though they have to buy 3 times as many at a lower price? Sorry for you closure!

Neon beach thanks for your compassion and you are absolutly right there are a lot of people out there who tan and don't take into consideration that the beds are old, the salon is untidy and unsanitary, and they are tanning slowly because the price is right. All of the customers I had actually cared and commented on how fast they were tanning and how many ammenities we had and we had others walk in and just complain we were too expensive. I mean we only charges $40 for and unlimited month and $5 for 20 minutes and so on, I was only about $5 - $l0 higher than the other salons. But to some people the cost is more important than the tan.
