hey guys.. i have a question for all of you.. I am 19 years old, and have never attempted tanning.. I am quite lightly skinned (i see lighter people, but im definately on the upper scale of lightness).. I hvae been burned a few times going to florida and being dumb and not putting on sun block (got second degree burns and blisters on my shoulders).. my question is.. can someone with my skin tone achieve a tan? I'm planning on going to a salon soon to actually go for it and see if I can pull off some color.. and I guess my other questions would be, do you recommend any special nutrition or lotions, anything that can mabey help me achieve or keep any color that i can get? thanks alot..

Yes, but not a very deep and dark one. You'll get colour, but take it very very slow. If you are offered 10 minutes in the bed your first time "DON'T DO IT". Go only 5 max, at first just to see how your skin reacts to the beds lamps. If your skin is a delicate as you say give yourself plenty of time to build a base tan. Still use no less then SPF 15 to 20 on your vacation. A tanning bed is not a magical thing that tans you weather you can tan out doors or not. You may be able to reach a greater darkness indoors then you can outdoors. But this will take patience and time. With your skin type you may not even see any signifigant results until your 5th session.GOOD LUCK!!!! HAPPY TANNING!

Good advise from Tan-u-too! Take it nice and slow and build up time in 1-2 minute increments.------------------Michael Chunn - www.tantalk.com
