I have been opened since october and have 9 beds and a standup. We are already seeing a five minute wait in the afternoons, tanning about 100 people a day. If I am tanning 100 per day in Feb., am I going to be able to handle the rush in March and April???What is considered tooooo long to wait to tan??Thanks for the help. Is this a common problem with new tanning salons, not enough beds (or at least the owners think so). Thanks for the help------------------Tommy Lowery

Thanks Bober96 Do you have more than 10 units, just trying to get some idea and to how long I should extend my hours. Also do you have any highpressure units.I hear this helps take some of the pressure( no pun intended)off of the reg beds------------------Tommy Lowery

I agree with Linda, seems you never have enough beds during season. If you remind people of your hours when you get really busy, and let them know that the mornings, or afternoons are a bit slower (or whatever time of day for you), this will help cut down on their wait time.As a rule, people hate to wait, but if you show concern to them, or take a few seconds to let them know that you have a special on something or other, they will feel more like a valued client. This helps a lot with us.Mike

The only time you seem to have too many is when it comes time to pull acrylics, clean the bed (thoroughly) and buy new lamps!I don't know how many times I look around the salon in the middle of April and think, "Wow, if I only had 10 more of these VHR bad boys!!!" At this point we only have 7, wishing I could squeeze in 3 more!!!We don't have high pressure, but we do have 2 VHR units....gotta love them![This message has been edited by BOBER96 (edited 02-06-2001).]

With ten units, expect to stay busy. My resort here has 46 units and in peek-season, we still have a line waiting to get in. Usually with the amount of beds we have here, it's no more than 5-7 minutes. However that gives us time to make some sales and get to know what the clients want.
