hey.. I'm new here but I really like being tan. With the weather how it is now I really want to go to a tanning bed. Unfortunantly, you have you have a parent guardian to sign off on tanning at the salons near here. my mother is totally against the idea and she won't let me tan because she thinks it's very unhealthy.. i really need this tan!! help me convince my mom to letting me go! what should i do?

Well my mom was the same way when I was 16...after some days of begging her she finally let me get some time...but she was against it...now we own a salon together!Get your mom to look up www.smarttan.com there are a lot of things people don't know about tanning...it has positive things about it...get her to look at that website and she might feel more comfortable with you going to a tanning salon. Look up a smart tan salon in your area! Good luck!

actually in some places you have to be 18 or older to tan without a parent or guardian signature. ------------------[url=http://www.control2x.com[/IMG]

what i was saying is, in some places, you have to be 14 years of age to tan PERIOD. Even if you parents sign for you, you cant tan unless you are 14 or older. An example would be a 12 year old with their parents signature wanting to tan, but the salon refusing. you understand?

I let ANYONE tan with a parental consent, regadless of age. I once attended a seminar with 3 Top guns speaking and they all tan their own children. The reason for this has been documented time and time again. Controlled tanning far outweighs overexposure and have you ever heard a mother yelling at her kids to stay in the house during summer vacation? That is an uncontrolled exposure and can last for hours (not to mention days/weeks) that the sun is at its strongest. Tell your mother she did more damage to you by letting you play outside than you could ever recieve during time controled uva/uvb exposure.
