I opened in Oct and don't know how to compare upcoming business to the cliche, busy season. Can someone give me a percentage of increase from their October busines to the first month of the " busy season" (what is the 1st month of the busy season) and then give me the percentage of increase from October business to the last month in the busy season (what is the last month?)This would give me some potential numbers to prepare for. Thanks in advance for the helpTommy------------------Tommy Lowery

Tommy,I opened in June & I haven't experienced a busy season either. I hope things pick up big time soon. It's been a long stretch. Around here they say February that they'll be lined out the door! I hope so!Good luck!

We start to pick up in February with March being a trip. I love the busy months. So many new faces, old faces, the possiblilities of membership and product sales is endless. You won't believe it until it happens. Get Ready!!!! and Good Luck !!!! July is when we really start slowing down.

Our busy season starts in Febuary. You won't believe how fast it picks up. You will most likely go from doing nothing to being overwhelmed. I know I was. Everyone kept telling me about Peak Season last year, I also started in October. I thought, How busy can it get? It was an experience. We went from tanning 40 people a day to 200 in a 15 bed resort. So, get ready, it will be here before you know it!------------------Lisa Holder

Woo-hoo...3 cheers for busy season!!! Overwhelmed is most definately the proper word here! Our first year (We opened in Nov of 97) we were lucky to be doing 10 people a day, then all of a sudden.....BAM! We were at 40, 75, TA-DA 100! At that time we only had 4/20 minute entry level beds. We have since added a VHR booth (9min) and a VHR bed (7min). Hooray for busy season!Around here it starts toward the end of January and stays strong till July.Good luck, hold on and have fun!!!!!

Is there a plateau the peak season business reaches, if so when and how long does it last? ie... Jan tan 100 a day, Feb 130 a day, march 200 a day, does it keep going or does it hit 200 a day and then descend?Thanks------------------Tommy Lowery

Tommy, We start picking up in February and by March we are going strong. Things stay hectic until June and it gradually starts droppping. July is still busy but not compared to March or April. We usually start laying off our extra help then. When school starts it really slows down. ------------------Carin WalkerSandollar Tanning Resorts

Thirteen years in business in three different salons (in the Northeast) tells me the calendar year can always be plotted as am inverted U curve with the peak in late April, early May.
