Who uses Napster or like to get salon music?

we have am/fm cassette, and some cd players in our stores. They are car stereos. I would be careful using napster in a commercial place like a tanning salon. not necessarily the napster program itself i would worry about, just all the pirated music! I know of a college student who got into a lot of trouble, hosting an mp3 server. Just something to think about.

yeah the FBI has been crackin down on Napster users. And I wouldn't want to be the one that gets smacked in the face with all the fines for pirated music.

i would like to add that i am in no way against napster. i think it is a great program and a great promotion tool. i have bought MANY cd's simply because i have heard their music on napster and liked it a lot. i hope it dosent shut down!

We rip most of our own cds to mp3s for the salon.Also some music is not on cds anymoresome are not made anymore. The only place to get them is online. Like "Jobriath" you can't buy him even if you wanted to.try Ohaha!,Toadnode,napigator, fileshare, guntella, limewire,audiognome, winmx.many others as well.Music sharing will never die.Its just smart to rip all your own cds to your hard drive as mp3s then play all the music from there.No one can tell if you owned and ripped them or if you downloaded them. I am not worried about cops at my door.It bad for artists to bust their fans!God knows we all paid for lots of music on cds that should never have been recorded :-)Thats the crime!

Adam Cooperyou broke the law already !!!!!!!If you did not get permission from the record companies to play the cds you bought in your salon, even you clients are breaking the law if anyone else in your salon can hear their's cds playing.The law is wide and deep.

Some places the law is that you can't play the radio in your salon unless you have permission from the radio station first, if you are using it for background music.

I remember in the early days of salons, tapes were in the rooms for clients to borrow.That didn't last long ;-)Would cds stick around as well ;-)

Read Carefully Chippp! Adam said he BOUGHT CD'S because of music he downloaded from Napster. He didn't make cd's from the music he downloaded.I myself have bought several cd's I might not have otherwise purchased because I was able to hear them from Napster first.I love Napster. All my music is for my personal use.
