Everyone has asked this question at one time or another. Especially a new customer! We have implemented a new procedure which allows us to share exactly how well our lamps are metering with our customers. Each month our tanning units are super cleaned. At that time our units are metered as well. We enter our readings on a chart and print out a graph showing levels of how our beds are reading. This displays in our lobby for our customers to view. They can see just how much more our upgrades meter than a standard unit. We may increase our upgrade sales due to our graph but mainly the idea was implemented to answer that inevitable question, "How good are your bulbs"?Does anyone else do anything similar? What is your opinion on this procedure?------------------Tracie WilliamsSandollar Corporation

Tracie:We have "plotted" our results on a graph for the past three years but we do not "post" it. IF a client asks questions about our lamps, we show them the graph and this almost always resolves the issue. We also have an information sheet posted in each room that points out how we monitor the lamps and asks this question: "When Do We Change Our Lamps?"The answer is:"At The End Of Their Useful Life!"I like your idea of posting your results and we may give it a try. Here is what I think goes on when tanning salon owners take the time to educate their clients.Education = Professionalism.Professionalism = Confidence.Confidence = Referrals.Referrals = A Successful Business! Therefore, "Educations" results in a "Successful Business".Hope this helps.Don
