Has anyone had a problem with customers giving fake information to receive more than one free visit? We give first time customers the first visit free. Over the last couple of months I have caught at least 6 customers doing this. I have had success with giving the first visit free, although the problem with the fake names could really get out of hand. I have considered to start asking for a picture ID or either not making the free visit offer any longer. What do you do?

Hi Jimmy! We thought about doing the 'first visit free' thing, but after careful thought, I decided to do 'first 3 tans for $10'. That way we still see a little dough, the client has a chance to see results and they are most certainly going to return for all 3 to 'get their moneys worth'. By the end of the 3, they start showing some good color and want to keep it going. It is also 3 chance to sell lotion, packages, etc. Also then, they really don't feel like trying to 'scam' you out of a freebie, since they aren't getting one in the first place! Just my 2cents worth!

i have a tanning bed repair business in kansas city, and most of the salons that give the first tan free, only give it away if they buy a package. that way they get money up front.

Jimmy:Helios will prevent this problem from occuring. It will pop up a list of potential duplicates so you can stop this problem. It works even if they use a fake name!Tony ToepferHelios User and President

That sounds interesting, but how??If I come in 1st & say my name is Tony Teopfer address A, then next week come in and say my name is Mickey Mouse address B.I think the only way to prevent this would be to check ID's on new customers wanting first tan free.
