Re: Returned Check
Neon, you beat me to it. Why carry cheques and have to write it out when you can carry a piece of plastic??? I noticed on my TanTrack that it was a cheque option to click for payments but not debit (maybe they just count it as cash)

Re: Returned Check
Call your District Attorney's Office. See if they have a Bad Check Program. Here's how ours works.
1 - Send the person who issued the bad check a letter by Certified Mail, that you demand payment of the check plus $25 within 10 days. 2 - After 10 days, if they don't respond, we send the check to the D.A. office 3 - The D.A. sends a letter demanding the face value of the check plus the $25 fee plus another $50 fee for the D.A. 4 - If they don't respond to the D.A. in 30 days, a bench warrant for their arrest is issued by the D.A.'s office. This arrest warrant is attached to their drivers license. 5 - At some point, they will either get stopped by the police or have to renew their drivers license. 6 - Excuse me mam/sir, please step out of the car. You're under arrest. They are arrested and booked. They must post bail if they want to get out. Typcialy $125 non refundable. Their car is towed. $150 plus $25 per day storage. They now must show up in court within 30 days and are always found guilty. $125 court cost + $125 bail fee + $150 towing + storage fee + $50 D.A. Fee + $25 bounce check fee + $ face value of check. FYI - bench warrants NEVER expire. |

Re: Returned Check
In 8 years we have had about 5 bounces. The biggest one for about $175, the client came in and took care of it. I like to walk into the bank and check the funds on an account, if its there I cash the check. Out of the 5 bounces, 4 were from W Mutual.

Re: Returned Check
if your bored, you can just keep calling the bank each day for "verification of funds". Eventually you will hit pay day and just go to their bank and physically cash the check. That way it wont be returned to you, and best of all you could make another one of their checks bounce b/c they weren't planning on it clearing.
