Re: The Wheels On The Bus Go Round And Round...
This has nothing to do with rights for the handicapped.
There's no such thing as a right to handicapped bathroom...I wonder if you really understand that you're advocating special priviledges for the handicapped, paid for, by legislative force. |

Re: The Wheels On The Bus Go Round And Round...
Its really simple. Handicap/disabled by definition means a person with limited ability.
They are a minority, why should I have to cater to them at my expense? Harsh, ya. But I have yet to have anyone park in my handicap spot in the lot. And out of pure irony, my "handicap room" is a stand-up!

Re: The Wheels On The Bus Go Round And Round...
do you get a tax write-off for your handi-cap spot.... somebody does. do you think you should get to use that spot before your 80 yr. old parent? i think handi-cap parking is one of the greatest ideas ever.

Apparently you have never been to Wal-Mart! LOL
Our SMALL Wal-Mart built 10 years ago have 40 handicap spots! One has no choice but to use GPS to located their own car!

Re: The Wheels On The Bus Go Round And Round...
If you disagree with with ADA, then where do you draw the line?
Salon owners complain that the ADA makes them spend money to cater to people that don't even tan. (Am I the only tanning salon in the U.S. that actually tans handicap people?) My point is: Why should we have to have fire extinguishers? We'll probably never have a fire. Why should we need permits to build new stores? The walls probably won't fall down. Why do we need the state to regulate us? All salons owners are the "salt of the earth" and would never do anything to endanger the public for the sake of money. (lol) A hundred years ago we didn't have to follow any of these guidelines. They are all now a part of our every day life because of the need for safety. Laws protecting people from discrimination aren't new, they are a part of our constitution. The ADA is in place for the safety of those that may be affected due to their particular disability. They should also enjoy the same comforts that we extend to our customers without disabilities. These laws should have been put in place 100 years ago. And, If they were, we wouldn't even be having this conversation now. Also, for those of us who have previously owned PureTan beds... Thank God for the fire extinguishers!!! |
