I apologize to all thsoe that posted in that thread my intention was not to delte it and I can't retrieve it now but I'll try to again later there was some good info from both sides..

Jim where is your asking price here? You only posted all reasonable offers then listed a price after you could not sell it???

Yeah, I moved pretty quickly from accepting a reasonable offer to begging for an unreasonable one. Now I'd sell it for parts and stainless steel scrap.

LOL I like that they don't post prices only because I NEVER get tempted so then I never have to worry about impulse shopping which I'm so well known for! It is true you will only get serious buyers but you won't be swaying any that might think hey that's a good deal and maybe I could use one of those.

Even though not currently looking to purchase, I check out the For Sale section from time to time. Not having the prices listed is a disadvantage to both buyer and seller. At the right price I can easily become an interested and potential buyer to justify considering a purchase otherwise I read on ...

Of course posting prices is better for everyone. Just open the paper and look at the car ads, major appliance ads, consumer electronics ads. You think, maybe, guys selling used tanning beds are smarter than everybody else on God's Green Earth? [sarcasm]

Maybe they didn't realize how they were fuguing up before a knucklehead like me had to point it out to them for their own good. Sunshine and posting asking prices has to be better for business all the way around.

I'm also an impulse buyer and if the price isn't listed, I'm not interested. My feeling, as well as almost everyone elses, I'm thinking, is that if the price isn't listed the item is over-priced. I don't want to nogotiate or haggle price. It makes it so much easier to shop if the prices are listed--period.

So then the sellers that CHOOSE to post their prices will get the benefit of all the impulse shoppers and those that do not, won't.

I don't see the big issue.
