Tan Track Poll Thread
I try to be very fair with what I do on the site and try to get other peoples opinions then let the mods agree on things. This is great forum for education, knowledge and if you have an issue. However a few people have sent me PM's and were concerned about the language and the way the thread was going. I also have a mouth and everyone else does also and we can all start debating things on line by calling people names on keyboards yet it never resolves problems.
So if you all would just vote and if you want to give an opinion quick that is fine but if it comes to opinated we wont' discuss the matter just whether or not we should continue the topic or not? The site is for salon owners and Industry Pro's so I'd rather you all put input on things that happen on the site instead of me the mods and Engfant and Navi debating which well never mind that. I ask that the poster that started the topic and Tan Track refrain from posting in the thread or poll. Thanks Below is the thread in question. Tantracks is being UNPROFESSIONAL! ( 1 2 3 4)

Re: Tan Track Poll Thread
As people in business there should be some boundaries in what we say about each other. I dont know a business owner who hasn't faced the same dilemma as Nichesoft. They don't feel like they misled Tanman - and of course he says they did.
Being a distributor doesn't make them any different than a salon owner. They have expenses just like us. I don't know what their financial situation is and neither does TanMan. Maybe they are struggling. They've offered him $400 worth of support (with Nichesoft that means you get all their upgrades for free) in addition to him keeping his original purchase. Despite what he says PC Charge has value to him. He should be using it. Either way, Nichesoft in an attempt to take the high road has been professional while TanMan can say whatever he wants? Closing this thread was probably the right decision. |

Re: Tan Track Poll Thread
I have been with Tantrack for 4 years with no problems.
(ASK ME ABOUT CENTRIX!!) I DO believe that this is a ******* contest. Someone needs to put their fur down. (Owners are 'owners' 'cuz they're not CSR's) Bottom Line: Product works AND Miscommunication or Misunderstanding

Re: Tan Track Poll Thread
I have also spoken with Tanman and asked him if he knew of alternative processing (for checking). He said he would check on that and I feel this is a lost cause because he will not be happy.

Re: Tan Track Poll Thread
I say keep the thread closed and move on. I do not think this forum is a place for professionnal debate. A member can ask question or give an opinion but start a professionnal debate on a public forum is usually very bad. Having a law degree I've given advices and opinions to many members here thru pm but I would never post anything about it.
I have also noticed that others threads seem to go haywire about personal opinions and often include foul language and name calling but fortunately the person starting those threads usually locks them up when other opinions dont agree with his. |

Re: Tan Track Poll Thread
Um say what?
That is what professional forums are for. I say if you close up threads like this, it is a MAJOR disvalue to the members of your community. How many times must salon owners get miss-information from improperly trained CSR's to then have the head of the company say, 'Oh well, your lose'. I do not think that 'new owner' understands the big picture here. I give 100% positive customer service (except in extreme cases of definitive fraud or interference) every time, even if the customer is asking for something over the top. Yes, in this case I would have not only called Tanman ASAP to apologize, but then refunded his money and relished in the fact that I gave Over-The-Top customer service. I would have then reviewed the training manual and made the necessary adjustments to make sure that this never happens again. Therefore, I demand it out of my suppliers now. I have recently terminated several contracts with suppliers based upon issues just like this one. Screw me, well then screw you; is my new motto when I deal with vendors. I do not give my cash anymore to those who do not fully support my salons for the long run. There are great vendors out there and I STRONGLY feel that we as salon owners should know not only about them (the positive), but about situations like this as well (the bad). One word on that subject sums it up: GR!P If salon owners can not effectively communicate issues with each other, then who is going to help us avoid possible pitfalls? All of this is IMO.

Re: Tan Track Poll Thread
Ahhh... I now see that TanTracks has a banner.
Well I guess that politics trumps truth everytime. You gotta do what you gotta do Matt, but I feel that I made a valid point. These forums have saved me tens of thousands of dollars in many ways such as Marketing, sales, customer interaction, pricing, equipment, and who to be cautious with. Please don't degrade the value of this site by locking such posts. To those who do not like the thread... Don't Read It!

Re: Tan Track Poll Thread
House of tan we have removed banner sponsors for doing poor buisness. The members of this site have sent me PM's saying that Tan Track is willing to credit the customer the customer is not willing to accept anything.
Am I suppsoe to allow the customer to keep the name calling up? So instead I decided to let the members vote on what to do.

Re: Tan Track Poll Thread
House Of Tan - Your view point is the same as mine except in this case what makes you think you know the correct way this issue was brought about? You're assuming that Tanman is telling it 100% like it happened. I'm not willing to pass judgement on either party because I was not a part of the telephone conversation. I have no reason not to believe Tanman's story but I also have no reason not to believe Tantrack's.
Our processor gives us PC Chare so I'm not even sure why there was a $500 fee paid for something that so many merchant processors give for free. |
