Need Advice! Customer wants to upgrade her whole package?

I need some guidance and advice on how I should handle this!

I have a customer that has our 1 mth unltd 20 min bed pkg and it is up on Feb 2 and I just was told by one of my girls that she wants to know how much it will cost for her to upgrade the remainder of her pkg to the next level. Heres how my pricing is structured...

1 mth unltd 20 min bed-39.99
1mth unltd 15 min bed-49.99
1 mth unltd high pressure beds-59.99

and my upgrade charge is $3.00 to upgrade each level

My problem is I don't know how to response to this I am very new and just opened 5 mths ago and the girl is a very good customer so I don't want to make her mad and say you have to pay $3.00 each time since you didn't pay the additional $10.00 from the get go...or how do I figure out a legit price for her to pay considering the other pkg is $10.00 more and she only has 9 more days left to tan. BUT, I am also finding out that I am big push over sometimes and feel "bad" but, I'm realizing this is a business and its "my" business and I need to make the rules....Any suggestions on how anyone else would handle this?

Since today is the 25th, I would just charge her five bucks, but that's just me!

Here is how i would handle that...

a little math for ya, 1mth unltd = 39.99 divide by days in month /30 = price per day $1.33
add up her remaining days 26th-2nd = 8days x 1.33 = refund of $10.64

now the same thing to figure out the next lvl cost..
1 mth unltd 49.99 x 30days = $1.66 per day
8days of tanning x 1.66 = $13.28

now $13.28 - her refund of 10.64 = $2.64


so that would be the "True Cost" to upgrade but i would also call it an even $5
This simple formula can be used in the future too just change the "Days remaining" and or pricing.

I'd GIVE her 2 upgrades to show good faith, make her pay the upgrade fee if she wants to go more and then she can buy her next month in your bigger bed.

this is where u being computerized comes into play. hopefully u are.

1st u explain there is no way to change her package to the next level. due to the computer codes being set over the phone by tech support! total bs but works everytime.

then u offer her 1/2 priced upgrades. shes only got 1 week left anyways and probably dont tan everyday.

you could also throw her a few free upgrades or charge the $5 like suggested above. if i was to charge anything it would have been the actuall price difference between the 2 months. i also would have blamed this on the computer and record keeping. LOL

all of the advice given will work! the main thing is getting her in that next level at a point that makes u both happy. next time she will buy the higher level anyways.

Yeah, just prorate it like Tullio said. That's what we do when our customers sign up for our memberships because we just have one billing day a month.

I definately don't think you should lie! It's easily fixed by figuring out the prorated fee. We use sunlync and it easily calculates package upgrades for us.
