Need advice..where did I go wrong?

I agree with most of what has been said above. Never discuss business policies with employees in front of clients. And I would never ask one of my employee which punishment she should get. I am the boss and I decide of the punishment. I would also make sure that no package out of the ordinary can be sold without a manager or owner signature, anything not signed by management would be obsolete.

Yalls comments and advice have been very interesting and educational. I really appreciate the honesty and can say that i have really learned alot. I will definitely post here again if I ever need advice, which I hope I will never make such a horrible management decision like this one, but I am greatful from being able to learn from this to make myself better at what I do. thanks again guys!
