How to increase morning sales?

Northshorerob, start setting goals each day for your staff. Mine we factor in what we did last year and set $100 on top of that. We average any day between $8 - $15 per session.

I have 8 units and usually make 2X that dollar amount with only tanning a quarter of that number of people. What is your pricing like?

We offer 1/2 Price Single TANS from 10-2. We used to tan 2-3 people and now up to 10-12 for our special. You do have to watch where people want to buy like 5 tans and 1/2 off then use then later- during normal price tans. People are so dishonest. There are a few regulars that ALWAYS come in at that time so we do go ahead and sell them to those individuals.

We advertise it on the marque outside the strip mall, put it in the rooms, and our waiting room.

We have 8 beds and our elect panel is maxed out.. we have no building space either
we are open 13 hours per day.. and 5 of the 8 are 14 min beds, 1 10 min bed, 2 20's

We opened 1 . 5 years ago, so my original staff is super nice.. but not sales types.. big mistake.. gradually we are fixing that..

Today we have tanned 51 people so far, sales = $425 with 7 hours to go

We are in a very blue collar town, population is 60,000. I have about 5% good, wealthy folks, who really buy lotion etc. and about 95% working class etc.. there are tons of wood / paper mills around.. so my clients tan, no they do not buy lotion.. esp with $3.15 per gallon gas

What about revamping some prices to include lotion in them. Call it a base tan special or Plateau buster or something to get them using lotion.

Case in point, we tanned 18 people only and have in $373.
It's dead as **** in here today.

we actually tanned 73 people yesterday-I was surprised(only 7 units and one airbrush spray)!

what i would try is to throw a customer appreciation Day, receive FREE sample lotions from your dist.( u are allowed 2 events a year)
Hand them out, start educate clients what lotion really does for u
" its all about the lotion:)"
a lot of the clients they truly belive lotion is just another waste of money..( i did..lol)
if they get the taste of lotion , they will def. start buying.. same time run specials on uppgrades/packages.. just an idea.. Good luck to u!
