Smile Another Lotion Question............

Yes, I am sure those of you in the business for years are tired of seeing silly questions about lotions, but I need to ask this one and ask for forgiveness in advance.

There is talk about rebates or some kinda kick back when you carry a certain lotion line exculsively..... Can someone explain in a nutshell how this works and the benefits and drawbacks associated with such a program....

how do I get involved with this plan.......noone has called me in the 3 months I have owned my salon......

Also, My wife has been very impressed with a guy named Todd from millenium..... states he is very nice... I have spoke to him a few times, he is not too pushy but he is still a salesman....
anyone have any background on him????

Thanks for all your responses....

Re: Another Lotion Question............

Ya there are certain "cash back" programs. You generally buy that line from one distributor, they keep track and send you info and the end of the year for the co-op. So like AG and SB. YOu can have some other line, but no more than 20% or so.

In MY opinion, its a waste of energy. You will make more selling the lotions your CUSTOMERS want. Just selling a couple dozen of another brand will easily make more profit than the cash back you could get.

It comes down to selling the right lotion to make the most money, not getting the best discount or rebates.

As a matter of fact, we dont even carry a particular line! We order what the customer asks for, they usually get it next day if ordered the day we place ours. Do we pay more for shipping? Yes, but do we sell A LOT more lotion, **** ya! (and we only order once a week anyway). This way they are not "locked" into a particular brand(s) we carry and they know they can get ANY brand they want. Its works well and we keep our stock very minimum. And the lotion we do order is already paid for! Basically we became the distributor.

Re: Another Lotion Question............

We sell almost 40 different lotion products Designer Skin, Australian Gold, CAL-Tan, Sweedish Beauty and a few others. We were upset when ETS purchased Designer Skin and discontinued our most popular lotions, Believe and Drama Queen. However, we just sold a few bottles of Revival and 14 Carat Gold so go figure. Lotion sales this year are almost $4,000 ahead of last year. I think our lotion sales are approaching $13,000 + this year. PatParadise, (IMWW)
