Re: Tantracks is being UNPROFESSIONAL!
hi, this is my first posting. I am in the process opening a tanning salon. I got the referral for Tantrack from my tanning bed distributor. He said he would ask her to call me. She finally did after about two weeks and said she would send me a demo of the tantrack software. Well I waited for 1 1/2 weeks, and it never came. So I called my bed distributor and got her number and spoke with her. She said she did send it but somehow I never received it. What do you think? I asked her about credit card processing in general, not really relating to ETFs. But she asked me if I was thinking of accepting ETFs through checking. My reply was I don't know, because I reallly don't know about any of this kind of stuff. She went on the tell me that I shouldn't accept ETFs through checking because the funds may not be there and I wouldn't get my money. Looking back after reading you posting, sounds like she was setting up to sell me what it was you got. I haven't purchased anything as of yet. I am having second thoughts about it now and I am probably more confused about all of this (software, credit card processing, ETFs, etc...).

Re: Tantracks is being UNPROFESSIONAL!
hotcam,
It's EFT. We use Sunlync and have for a year, the software is great and the support is even better. It cost $79.00 a month and well worth it. Just go to sunlync.com and check them out. |

Re: Tantracks is being UNPROFESSIONAL!
Just to set the records straight here, the reason the sales rep was asking about how they intended to process EFTs was in fact to avoid another situation like the one referenced in this thread.
The sales rep was trying to explain the difference between processing via credit card vs bank account drafts. A credit card gives you an instant authorization which is in effect a temporary hold on the funds until they are captured by your processor. A bank draft uses ACH which can take up to three days to find out if you were in fact paid or it "bounced." The bad side to using a bank draft is that you've essentially let someone continue to tan before you realize the transaction bounced. Processing using a credit card instead does carry higher fees but your results are immediate. We use a third party company for salons wishing to handle bank drafts. The solution is automated but not integrated with our software at this time. For credit card processing, we allow you to use any processor you choose rather than forcing you to pick a specific processor. This allows you to shop around and get the best rates available. I hope that helps!

Re: Tantracks is being UNPROFESSIONAL!
If it helps Hotcam we use TanTrack and we also use PC Charge. PC charge is a product Verifone developed so that you can process your credit cards through your computer rather than a standalone machine. PC charge is not Nichesoft software. It was sold to me as part of the entire package I purchased from Nichesoft and it works really well.
I've replied to this thread in the past because I think that some tanning salon owners forget that Nichesoft is a small company just as we are. They are not Microsoft. The salon owners in here that think Nichesoft should just pony up their profits for software that they can no longer use are the same salon owners who will vehemently state that under no circumstances should you refund money to customers who purchase packages in your salon. When they are the customers they want any distributor big or small to jump through hoops for them and if they don't they will BLAST them all over TanTalk, TanToday or UVTalk in an attempt to influence people like you. When it is their customer it's the old "Take it or leave it attitude - and don't come back if you don't like me or my salon!". They will get all ****** off now because I'm saying this but if you read as much as I do on here you will see very quickly that I'm dead on. Bottom line is Nichesoft is not perfect. They will make mistakes and as a disty they should make an attempt to make amends. IMO they have offered fair compensation to TanMan. They're offering technical support (which everyone needs) for the next two years to compensate him. The software is registered to him which means it has no value to anyone but TanMan and if he would just stop being so dam stubborn he could figure out that using PC charge would make his life alot easier. He can still process the checking acct customers through a 3rd party (not many of them) until / if Nichesoft upgrades their software. He then could get rid of his standalone credit card maching and use his POS computer - which is so much nicer. It integrates perfectly with TanTrack. When you open your salon you are going to be in the same situation Nichesoft is in. I promise you! You are going to have a customer at some point who is disgruntled and you will either choose to make amends or tell them to hit the door. Hopefully, you will choose the former and you can negotiate a compromise. IMO Nichesoft has done that and TanMan will not budge. He says they misled them, Nichesoft says they didn't. I've never seen the letter he claims his accountant sent in this thread and I'd be willing to bet that if he had it we would have seen it by now - I guess we'll find out soon enough now that I've posted this. Either way, he's being stubborn. The best I mean best part of using PC Charge is that you have your choice when it comes to cc processing and if you've worked with processors you know that they are going to give you the highest rates possible that you will accept. Anyone who says "I'm giving you the best rates I can" is lying. If you don't shop around your rates you ARE GOING TO PAY ALOT MORE THEN NECESSARY TO PROCESS CREDIT CARDS and it can add up very fast! I opened a salon for my wife and I but I also run a restaurant with sales of 6M+. I've heard every line and seen every angle out there when it comes to cc processors. You don't want to be stuck with a processor. Search every salon software company in here and I bet you can find people complaining. You will also find other's defending them. Your choice should be based on what work's for you and your situation. I've had success with TanTrack and would recommend them. They aren't perfect and I've had issues with them and they resolved them. I'm very happy. Best of luck on your decision and your salon. |
