Paying for Spray techs.
We did our first $$$ spray today, sold a Caltan kit to her and she gave the tech a $20 tip.
That said another girl is being a pain in the A$$, She fought us on spraying her friends to practice ( for free ), and now is complaining about commission and that she will not spray males even in briefs. I said I would spray the males if they had to be nude. But the girls had to spray other males in briefs or shorts. I pay the girls 1$ to sell it and $2 for spraying the customer, we charge $28 (local comp is at $30). This is on top of their hourly wage. What do you pay your tech's to spray tan a customer, If you own and do all of your own sprays then tell me what you would like to see $$ wise if you were an employee. FYI that FRP board works great, solution jumps off w/ a little simple green and water. FYI II Breeze is awsome, everyone loves their color, no-one orange yet. |

Re: Paying for Spray techs.
Well first we have just two techs, anyone can airbrush but not everyone can do it well. Its an art. They get paid about $10 for full. We charge $35.00 per full body session.
We do NOT do nude, there is a legality issue there in our state. Plus its not comfortable for the tech. If its a regular client we can ok topless only. If they are complaining, they are likely doing a crappy job anyway. Its an art, the person doing it should enjoy (for the most part) spraying the client. |

Re: Paying for Spray techs.
very true... im highly requested at my salon.. sometime i get tips sometimes idont ..not bc im not good.. but bc people are cheap.. or just dont know etiquette IMO.. so i tried to train my staff to do it .. and they either are sloppy with it are just do not like it ... reflects poorly on me... so... i dont bother with commissions.. if they are great they will get tipped.. since its not the owner doing it ... and thats cash in their pocket... now if htey sell product.. they get % on it ..

Re: Paying for Spray techs.
"You work for me you spray everyone who pays for it, however they want it. Wheres the question"
That is point, STF up and spray, and make monewhile doing it. That girl made about $30 for coming in on X-mas eve, for an hours work. She sprayed her in about 5-10 min. but had to clean the room. She got another today she is def. taking the ball and running with it, the rest are either scared or to dumb to see the $$ that can be made. We will continue paying this way till our special (buy one get one) is over then I may bump it to 1 to sell 4 to spray or ...... As for males they will spray them in their briefs/shorts or they won't be here. The inmates are not going to be running my asylum. mgj |

Re: Paying for Spray techs.
This is the question I see:
"What do you pay your tech's to spray tan a customer, If you own and do all of your own sprays then tell me what you would like to see $$ wise if you were an employee." I'll email you my answer mj :)

Re: Paying for Spray techs.
They are on the clock... They are getting paid well anyway... TIPS + To Insure Proper Service.
If employee takes off and does really great... Bonus when I feel like they deserve it. What the **** is 15-20 mins of spraying AND clean up???? ps. Diluted bleach water in a spray bottle works great for clean up ;) |
