Re: Is this SUICIDE???
Have you seen any financials to justify the 100K asking price of the ghetto salon? If not, it would lead me to believe they are blowing smoke outta their a$$.

Re: Is this SUICIDE???
Small town salon for 100k? Must be those new fancy gold plated bead with diamond encrusted controls.
Really no one here knows your town like you do. They key is to start small and expand from there. Partners with businesses all you can. If there is already a day spa, I would steer clear of those services. If there is not, you may want to run your business as two separate entities. You want to build both, but some people do not like getting a tan at a hair salon or listen to bed fans when getting a manicure. But first you need to know why the salon closed and see how busy (camp out in a black van) the other salon is. If you do it right you could re-vitalize the tanning in your town. But if done wrong or no interest, it could fail. |

Re: Is this SUICIDE???
Well usualy when you buy a business the general rule is your trying to regain the capital you invested in the following years to come. How fast you regain your capital depends on the industry your investing.
I've heard tanning owners say that they regain there capital in 5 years, but that seems a little high for me. That's like 15% a year. |
