Re: Hi I'm new here
slow season is usually july, august, sept, oct, nov and dec. (JASON) the worst is over for most areas. when u opened most tanners where probably all settled in somewhere else.
do a grand opening this march if you havent already. if you did do a 1 yr anniversary sale or something. there is alot of info and ideas on this site. use the search function and post often.....welcome aboard

Re: Hi I'm new here
4 new salons in your area since May including yours? Who says the tanning industry is down?? People wouldn't be sinking their life savings in to new salons if it was. Distys and franchisers would be honest with potential new salon owners, right??

Gift Certificates suck IMO -- tanning is a "personal" experience -- not something I would go out of my way to buy as a gift unless I knew they were an avid tanner -- and your equipment doesn't really matter if it works (well) -- have you done any marketing/advertising in your market? If so -- what?

Re: Hi I'm new here
good luck to you. do a free weekend before valentines and get them in to try u out as the season is starting. offer some good packages, not too cheap. go around to the hot spots in your area (businesses, etc) give out business cards and invitations. be confident and friendly and u will go far. remember cheap brings cheap, that is not always a good thing. I usually email or mail my established customers at the end of january with a 25% off total purchase until FEB 14, that gets them in early. around here the weather dictates what feb will be like, if it is still cold, that helps.
