Re: Ethics question

I can't think of any scenerio that would make me compromise ethics. As a salon owner I consider this to be a profession and as a professional you always take the high road and do what's right for the customer. Knowing that over-exposure is unhealthy, why would anyone even have to ponder this decision? By the way, it's not unethical to turn in the scum bag competition that's allowing it, but make sure you don't just have a couple of customers yanking your chain.

Re: Ethics question

Our state is not regulated and I've never heard of any salons around here tanning more then once a day.

Re: Ethics question

Take out an ad in the newspaper advertising your salon. Put in the ad that if "you are tanning twice a day" , or if a salon is letting you tan twice a day, it is against the law, and only doing damage to your skin. I would focus the ad on the healthy way to tan. That doesnt mention your competition, but will get the point across.

Re: Ethics question

There is a salon a little ways from me not to be considered direct competition, but still somewhat a competition who does allow people to tan twice a day. First it ****** me off, however I run a reputable tanning salon and if people want to go somewhere that does not, they will soon enough learn. And to be honest, where is the money in that...give them a while and they too will fold up. Keep some educational pamphlets with you and just work on training your clients to be educated about tanning...How to tan safe, moderation, and emphasis it is not the QUANITY BUT THE QUALITY of your tanning exposure. KEEP running your business the way you know it should be...and just like somebody said...KARMA has a way of returning. Let the people go tan down there...when they start going twice a day and their tan fades because the bulbs are crap...theyll be back. MY OTHER QUESTION.....I wish I had enough time in my day to worry about tanning twice in one day! $h*t Im lucky to tan once or twice a week now days!
