Text messaging

Do any of you guys use text messaging as a way of advertising with your clients??
To me, seemed like a great idea, since everyone is texting nowadays!!

I have it set up so they can sign up for text messages via my website, I'm still collecting enough numbers to make it worth while. I'm thinking it will be a great way to offer last minute and one day only specials.

I would ONLY do this if I got specific permission from every phone number used. I had a club promoter do this and abuse it. I was paying for each text message and wasn't on a plan. Don't annoy your customers.....have them sign up for it specifically. :)

its ironic that you mentioned that.. this morning i got a text at 8:45am from one of my customers asking to make appts. for her and her friend after school..i think its a good idea as long as they give u permission..

That's how mine is set up, they have to actually sign up for it. Then I only do blow-out last minute specials. For instance on 4th of July I did A One Day Only $4 Mystic or Matrix

I've never seen something so stupid in my life. You get free calls all day long yet you pay to "IM" someone over the phone.
