Re: Tan America or ETS

We didn't fall for the "if" you buy more beds from us we'll drop the prices. In the end they'll drop the price to sell just one bed. I would prefer not to spend all of my 100K in one place starting out new. We went with 5 different manufacturers. That way you'll KNOW where to spend your second 100k someday. ;)

Excellent advice Eileen. I totally agree. Spread your "love" between more than one manufacturer. This will definitley help with decisions down the road!

Re: Tan America or ETS

I love my Tan America beds. But you should shop your competition and see what they have. Tan America, although they are work horses, dont really have the wow factor some other beds have. Best bet is to try beds out and see if you like them. The only bed that TA has that is super WOW is their HP otherwise they all kind of look the same. On that same note though, they are not dated.

We commit to carrying spares for our beds for at least five years after the product has been discontinued.

IMO - if you sell a product - you should ALWAYS carry parts for them -

Re: Tan America or ETS

I have TA Pacifica's and my customers love them...I opened today and had 13 people in the first hour! Business has been great since we put them in. As far as WOW factor...everyone loves the built in stereo's and the color...I THINK THEY LOOK AWESOME! I do service work and see design flaws with alot of other companies that I don't see with TA...Mainly the endcaps don't break, springs don't squeek, acylic don't have screws that can crack them!

Re: Tan America or ETS

^^That's what I've been telling people for years!^^

Honestly, how many prospective tanning clients look at your beds and say, "You know, this just doesn't look 'cool' enough for me to tan in.", and walk out? The whole "Wow Factor" everybody talks about, and "Curb Appeal", is for you - the salon owner! Wow Factor and Curb Appeal is what the mfrs use to get you to buck up the sick cash for what is otherwise just another tanning bed with lamps and ballasts.

So if I buy a bed from you this year and you discontinue the bed at the end of the year, I can get parts from you for a 5 whole years. Thank you, and all this time I thought you didn't care.

Re: Tan America or ETS

I have 11 ETS beds and have some issues. Cosmetic issues mainly. They'll all be 2 years old in November, but I've had to replace multiple end caps for peeling paint on the 332's. The reflector under the pillow on the 442's is constantly filling up with hair and gunk and if you try to clean them it's a real pain and they scratch very easily. The 648- don't even get me started on the top acrylic falling out when you change lamps and trying to get that sucker back in is like major surgery. The 755's buttons look bad in a short period of time, the writing wears off. And, the 918 (original Velocity) is rusting. Yep, rust spots down by the feet. Customer Service's answer to that? They sent me a can of spray paint.

I'm extremely happy with the PERFORMANCE of these beds though. The 755 is amazing. Truly a great tan!

I haven't made up my mind about the equipment I'll buy for my next salon... I've got a couple years to figure that out.
