Gov. Martin O'Malley wants to tax salons in Maryland

The governor has proposed expanding the state sales tax to cover health club memberships, massages, tanning salons, saunas, steam baths and real estate management services. Haircuts, shoe repair, cable television bills and most professional services would continue to be exempt.

How bout' what's happening here in Wisconsin. In the assembly now, is a bill to give everyone in the state, heath insurance. Every man, woman and child will be insured. Now, that might sound great, but we're going to be the ones paying their premiums. They are proposing a 10 1/2 tax on a businesses' adjusted gross income. When this happens, my adjusted income is going to be just that, adjusted, and a whole lot less then it is now. I'm not saying I would cheat the tax man; just massage the numbers and dig up a few more deductions to offset any income which I might have.

**** that, cheat the tax man. I'm sick of these assholes with their hands in our pockets.
Some businesses don't even work on a 10% margin. My prior business used to gross over 3 million dollars annually and I was happy to have a 5%-8% margin. That health care tax would have bankrupted me.

And there's more---employers will also be required to pay 10 1/2 % additional tax on the gross payroll and employees will have an additional 4% tax on their wages. This bill is now in assembly and expected to pass. How in the **** can this be happening. How can the employers in this state allow this to pass. They call this capitalism--NOT! This is worse, this is litterly rape without penetration.

If it's state wide, prices have to go up to cover it.

Without offending anybody, which party runs your state? I have a guess.

Get a good accountant that know where to trim the fat and claim every expense to the limit the IRS will allow.

Thats the only way to beat the system legally. The other way is to get everyone to revolt.Which do you think will be easier?

Don't you already pay a sales tax to your state on the products that you sell?
